The Armchair Bookers tackle Wrestlemania 24

It is that time of year again folks. The time of year when wrestling fans start Wrestlemania threads in forums all over the place. When writers for LOP and the like start speculating on what the Wrestlemania card will look like. Yes that’s right; it’s time for the armchair bookers to tackle Wrestlemania!

Now I have not watched much wrestling in the past year but I have kept abreast of what has been going on (sort of) so this column will probably be way off the mark(just like my others) but I don’t care. here is the card I think we might see in no particular order,

1) MVP(c) vs. Matt Hardy US Title match: This feud has been going forever and most likely would have ended by now if not for Hardy’s medical problems. So the bright side of Hardy’s appendix almost exploding and killing him is that now he can win the US title on the biggest stage of them all.

2) Y2J vs. JBL in a battle of the Acronym’s: Seriously Jericho’s return was butchered. They built him up for months as a savior then he didn’t save us from anything and now he is wrestling a semi retired fat Texan at Wrestlemania and after it’s over Jericho will be back to the mid card. His whole return has been mediocre. He did not get the huge fan reaction everyone was expecting. His promos have been hit and miss. One good thing about this feud though will be the promos. JBL is great and with someone like that to bounce off I expect the Jericho of old to reemerge on the stick. Jericho has to win this or he might as well go back to playing bad music. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some kind of guest referee or special enforcer in this match. Namely John Cena he does have history with both of them after all and though he can’t wrestle I’d expect the E to get him on the card somehow.

3) Hulk Hogan vs. Great Khali: Hogan needs the money so this match will happen trust me. Here’s how it will go:-

Chop to the head by Khali and another. Claw. Crowd chants for Hogan he powers up. Chop by Khali. Chop by Khali. No sell by Hogan, Hulk up, finger poker of doom, punches by Hogan, body slam, leg drop. Thanks for coming.

4) Ric Flair vs Sting (wishful): Okay it won’t happen but Vince should just throw a shit load of money at Sting to do this. Then they can make a Sting DVD and everyone will be happy. Ric will fight someone. Most Likely Shawn Michaels but I hope not. I’d consider that a waste of Shawn unless he turns heel for it.

5) Undertaker vs. Edge: Streak vs. streak. Nothing else needs to be said. I don’t think the title needs to be in this match. It will sell itself so Big Dave will get the title back sometime soon. Edge should win and end the streak. He won’t but he should.

6) Batista (c) vs. Lashley for the WHC: Everyone seems to have forgotten that Bobby is due back soon. I actually can see him winning the elimination chamber match at NWO.

7) HHH Vs Randall Orton (c): WWE Title matchOkay since Hardy gets the throw away title shot at the rumble that can mean only one thing. HHH wins the rumble and fights Orton at mania. H is due for a win at mania.

8) MITB Ladder match: Jeff Hardy, vs Carlito vs Kennedy vs Rey Mysterio Vs Shelton Benjamin Vs Kane Vs Matt Hardy Vs Finlay

9) CM Punk Vs Someone: I don’t know who I have never watched the new ECW

10) Tag Team filler match

11) Woman’s title match.

Like I said I haven’t watched that much wrestling this year. I don’t have the IC title being defended on this show. You could go Jeff Hardy vs. Kennedy and go with just the six men in the MITB ladder match I suppose.
