Now before I begin just let me state that I do not deny that global warming exists. I do not deny that humans may well have contributed to climate change through green house gas emissions, deforestation, farming and aerosol emissions. What I think is the convenient lie is that we can stop it or change it significantly at this stage.
The earth’s climate is always changing and has suffered huge swings in the past which did not result in cataclysmic destruction. The climate change debate has become a nice platform for the socialist left to tout their anti capitalism message under the guise of environmentalism.
Climate change can not be stopped at this point. You are being lied to. The CO2 is there already. Even if every human on this planet stopped burning fossil fuels right now and did not cut down another tree climate change would continue. Oh and you would have to get the cows to stop farting as well.
I ask you this. What is the biggest greenhouse gas?
If you answered water vapour than you get a gold star. There is so much media coverage on CO2 emissions that we are led to believe that it is the most important greenhouse gas and the biggest contributor to climate change. That is a convenient lie. I won’t go into the science because I am not one but there is plenty of research done to support my claim that we are being fibbed to about CO2. Why?
Well that’s elementary Watson. The climate change debate has become a huge political and economic issue. It has enabled the Australian government to get away with imposing a new tax on business cleverly called Australian Carbon Trading Scheme. In NSW we have the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Scheme. So now you have to pay to pollute. Fair enough I guess. It’s too late off course but I understand the reasoning even if it is based on a lie.
I am going to make a bold statement here. Within ten years their will be a Carbon Tax in Australia, probably added on to fuel prices and electricity bills. Many countries already have one though they are only imposed on businesses. Soon everyone will pay a “carbon tax” which will really be a sales tax but will be accepted by the public who by then will be so scared they will willingly pay anything to help prevent the unpreventable.
They will be scared because every damn single weather event is blamed on global warming. Floods in Mexico, global warming, Hurricane Katrina, global warming’s fault, Tornado near Lismore same thing. The coverage of these events is usually accompanied by some “scientist” predicting things will only get worse and we have to act now to change things.
I cringe every time I see it. There have always been extreme weather events and it is no worse now than it ever was. Once again I reiterate I do not doubt climate change is occurring but it shows how arrogant the human race is to 1) Believe we are the sole cause of it and 2) believe we can do anything to stop it.
That is the lie we are being fed and it sure is convenient for environmentalists as it has enabled them to obtain unbridled power over world governments.
And why the focus on CO2 and not Methane? There is a question for those in the know on climate change.
