My New Job
I started a new job three weeks ago at William Booth House which is a long term residential rehab centre in the city.
I am enjoying it. Leaving the detox and moving out of my comfort zone was a little bit uncomfortable at first but I am getting used to it now. It helped that I knew some of the staff already. I know I shouldn't project my expectations onto others and I try not to but in a quality organisation some things just need to be done which are not being as far as I can see. At least I have remembered that I am powerless over other people and have not let myself become frustrated. I will just do what my job requires and do it to the best of my ability
We have a new SAO coming on Wednesday and I am sure he will see the things I do. Things are run well but could be run better and sometimes you need fresh eyes to see that. I just hope he doesn't change too much just adds things like staff meetings.
All in all I like the job and think it was the right career move at this point.
